Dave Wilson

Dave has owned and operated a diverse range of businesses since 1968. The experience he has gained from these, coupled with his enjoyment in working with people, currently sees him working fulltime in a variety of financial consultant/advisory roles.

For more than 20 years Dave has been actively involved in sport in the Porirua Basin, largely with Western Suburbs Soccer Club, initially as a junior coach, and also as a board member and sponsor. The highlight of his time at Wests has been winning the national club competition in 2006 and the thrill of bringing the Chatham Cup back to Porirua. That year he was also named Administrator of the Year at the Porirua Sports Awards.

Still in sport, at a national level he managed the All Whites from 1999-2003. In 1997, Dave was co-founder, and is currently C.E, of the Porirua-based Ole Soccer Academy, which provides coaching programs, from a grassroots level in the Porirua Basin primary schools, through to developing elite players and, for some, facilitating their gaining scholarships to pursue their academic and football interests at universities in the United States.

Dave has a particular passion for mentoring young people, through business and sporting opportunities. He values the importance of guiding the community’s leaders of the future.
